Carmichael and Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District present Carmichael's Red, White, & Blue Celebration. Come out and enjoy live music by Hipper than Hip, food trucks hosted by Food in the Hood 916, Kid Zone including inflatables with the support of GCC Virtual Academy and art projects with the support of the Sac Fine Arts Center, beer/wine garden hosted by the Carmichael Parks Foundation, and a spectacular fireworks show!

How much does it cost to attend the Red, White, and Blue Celebration?

The Red, White, and Blue Celebration is free. However, we will have food trucks on site for an easy and convenient dinner.

What time is the event? What activities are happening?

The Red, White, and Blue Celebration is from 6-9pm with the fireworks show will begin at 9:30pm. We will have a live band, large Kid Zone with inflatables (with water slides) and art hosted by Sac Fine Arts, food trucks, and a beer/wine garden hosted by the Carmichael Parks Foundation.

Where will the band be playing? Can I bring chairs or a blanket?

The band will be playing on stage from 6:30-9:30pm. The grass area is set up for lawn and picnic-style seating. Remember to bring your chairs and blankets.

Is smoking or drinking alcohol permitted?

This is a smoke-free zone. This includes cigarettes, vaping, e-cigarettes, and marijuana. Outside alcohol is not permitted – all alcohol must be purchased at the beer/wine garden.

Will there be food and drink available on site? If yes, what kind?

Yes, there will be food trucks hosted by Food in the Hood 916 and a Beer/Wine Garden hosted by the Foundation is available for 21+. The Carmichael Recreation and Park District will be also selling water for $1, cash only.

Attendees are allowed to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks (personal BBQs are prohibited; no glass containers).

What is the weather policy?

This event is rain or shine. In the event of extreme heat, there will be an indoor cooling station. Water is also available at the Carmichael Recreation and Park District tent.

Can I bring my dog?

No, dogs are not allowed. This event is a very high-traffic, loud, and overwhelming event for animals. Service animals are allowed.   

Where are the restrooms located?

Portable restrooms are located on the west side of the event near the Beer/Wine Garden, as well as to the south near the blacktop. ADA restrooms are only available at the south restroom location.

Parking:

We suggest you arrive early, as parking fills up very quickly. Parking will be available in the La Sierra parking lot, as well as the San Juan Unified School District parking lot, off Engle Rd. Please be respectful of neighbors if you choose to park in surrounding neighborhoods and do not block driveways.

What to Bring:

Bring blankets or chairs to watch the fireworks. We recommend you bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray for you and your family. If your child wants to go down the water slides, you may want to bring them a swimsuit and towel as well.
