Community Garden
Community Garden
Located at Sutter-Jensen Community Park off of Sutter Avenue, the garden exists to promote a positive environment for community members with a passion for working outdoors to share information and gardening techniques, and build camaraderie. The plots are renewed annually for $70 and on an application basis are available to families, individuals, or community organizations. Each plot is approximately 20' x 20'. It’s a wonderful way to develop a hobby, give back to the community, or practice some outdoor creativity!

Donation Programs
In 2010 the Community Garden began a Donation Program to the Carmichael Presbyterian Church’s Food Closet. Each week from July through September, boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables were collected by volunteers and taken to the church. The church in turn distributed the produce to approximately 100 families per week. The first year of the program saw 90 boxes delivered to the Food Closet! In 2011 the popularity of the program increased and with the addition of volunteers, a second pick-up day was added. Although Mother Nature has not been as cooperative with longer seasons of nicer weather, we gave 72 boxes in 2011 and 59 boxes in 2012.
