Carmichael Park - Measure G Projects

The Measure G projects are coming soon to Carmichael Park!  The following are included in this phase:

  • Replacement of the playground structure and rubberized surface near the Veterans' Memorial Building.
  • Add concrete surrounding the playground area and update accessible ramp at the Veteran's Memorial Building.
  • Paving upgrades in the park - Square footage to be determined by condition and budget.
  • New restroom building installed near the tennis courts.
  • Converting two tennis courts to six pickleball courts including installation of new poles and nets for pickleball standards.

Timeline:

  • Current Progress (August 2025): Construction has begun! 
    • Tennis Courts - Construction fencing is up around the front of the tennis courts. Please travel around the courts and enter from the other side (pictured below).  The four front tennis courts will remain open. The back two tennis courts near the wall will be closed at a date to be determined and converted into six pickleball courts.
    • Tot Playground - The playground next to the Veterans' Memorial Building is closed and under construction. The playground will be replaced and the entire play area renovated.
    • Asphalt Repaving - The area shown in the photo gallery below will be closed starting approximately 9/5/25. The farmers market will be moved ot the opposite side of the front of the park near the basketball courts.
    • Completion Timeline - This project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
  • June 2025 - Awarded and executed construction contract.
  • May 15, 2025 - Advisory Board of Directors Meeting - Action 3 - Approve Updated Total Budget and Accept the Lowest Responsible Bid from JPB Designs Inc. for Carmichael Park Improvement Project

 Measure G Project Update - Work is underway at Carmichael Park. Construction fencing is in front of the tennis courts. Please follow the route in the picture below to access the courts. The Tiny Tot Playground is closed until further notice, as this project includes replacing the play equipment and renovating that space.
