KHO After School Program
Kids Hangout is a fun and engaging after-school program that provides a safe and welcoming environment for students in grades 1–8. Participants can complete homework, enjoy nutritious snacks, socialize with friends, and take part in a variety of games, sports, and recreational activities.
Transportation is provided from participating schools to the La Sierra Community Center, making it easy for families to have the care they need after the school day ends.
The program is offered to grades 1st - 8th at:
- Barrett Middle,
- Churchill Middle
- Deterding Elementary
- California Montessori Project (CMP) - Carmichael Campus

Program Dates: August 10, 2026 - June 11, 2027
Program Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 6:00pm
Our Program Hours also include all early release days for both SJUSD and CMP:
- Wednesdays, 1:00pm – 6:00pm (CMP Early Release)
- Thursdays, 1:00pm – 6:00pm (SJUSD Early Release)
- Minimum Days
- Parent-Teacher Conferences
Program vans will pick up program participants at school dismissal times
Please Note:
- Vans will arrive to pick up from elementary schools up to minutes after the final bell
- Vans will arrive to pick up from middle schools between 15 and 20 minutes after the final bell
- CMP Carmichael students will be walked over from the dismissal area to the program

Fees: Part Time: Attends 1-3 Days/Week
$95 (R) $100 (NR)
Full Time: Attends 4-5 Days/Week
$115 (R) $120 (NR)
If your child attends CMP Carmichael or does not need van transportation to our program, you qualify for a $10/week discount
