Goats and sheep recently helped reduce overgrown vegetation and fire risk at parks this month through an environmentally friendly grazing program. These hardworking animals provide a sustainable way to manage natural areas while helping protect parks and nearby communities. A special thank you to the Carmichael Parks Foundation for helping to fund this year's grazing efforts and making this valuable program possible.

Carmichael Recreation and Park District has been making significant improvements at the La Sierra Community Center through Measure G Bond Funding. While we hoped to bring back our Red, White & Blue Celebration this summer, construction on the new soccer field, irrigation and drainage systems, walking paths, and accessibility improvements are still underway. As a result, the event will not be held this year.

Each July, we join park and recreation agencies across the country in celebrating Park and Recreation Month and recognizing the dedicated professionals, seasonal staff, volunteers, and community partners who help make our parks, programs, and events possible.
